You are never gonna survive unless you're a little crazy. 🎶

was commissioned to do this wall art for a magazine fashion editorial which will be out next month. Amazing feeling to be able to work on a huge white wall! Definitely want to do this again! Paint on 30x30ft.

POP

Really have no idea what I went for with this one. I figured I wanted to draw an old man with a twist. I really have a thing for miniature anything (toys, figures, drawings, etc.) Charcoal, solubles and pentelpen on sketch pad.

Getting there.

It's the first time I've used this much mediums for a painting. Will finish you soon! Oil, acrylic, charcoal, graphite, pencil on 24x24.

Friday, September 26, 2014

Let's see where this will take me.

Saw a bunch of old oil paint last night and decided to use it for the first time after more thank a decade! Not gonna lie but I sure have to adjust to the smell and to this whole oil painting again.

Hope this turns out okay. I see a monkey don't you? Oil and acrylic on 24x24.

SOLOMON

SOLOMON

I can't remember the time I last used solubles and I must say I really enjoyed it. The paper got drenched but turned out quite well after. Soluble in drawing paper. #September2014

GRACE

GRACE

This is 3 of 3 from my commissioned work done last August. Really enjoyed painting this one because I got to play with graphite pencils and other mediums. Acrylic and charcoal on 30x30. #August2014

ANNA

ANNA

This is 2 of 3 from my commissioned work done last August. Acrylic and charcoal on 40x40. #August2014

KARL

KARL

This is 1 of 3 from my commissioned work I did back in August. I really enjoyed creating this because black and white is always a good thing. Acrylic on 30x30. #August2014

MY FIRST COMMISSIONED WORK

GRACE, ANNA, KARL

I just started painting again last June 2014 after hibernating for almost 7 years and to be commissioned to do 3 paintings for the very first time is just amazing! Fashion & Art combined is always a good thing. Acrylic and charcoal on 30x30 (Grace and Karl). Acrylic and charcoal on 40x40 (Anna). #August2014

LOGO MANIACS

LOGO MANIACS

I wanted to create something funny and not too serious so I came up with this boy group or as we call it here in Manila "Barkada" with the intrusion of different Fashion brands that I like. My favorite part of this painting is the toy clown detail! Acrylic and charcoal in 18x24. #August2014

FASHION SLAVES

                                                              FASHION SLAVES

This is the second Barbie installation I did using old dolls, animal toys and some women's fashion accessories. This is one thing I really want to pursue as well. #August2014

NAIRA

                                                                           NAIRA

This piece was based on all of the my best friend's extreme sports (that she's currently into) + some of her "trademarks"  as of the moment. I enjoyed painting this one. Acrylic on 16x20. #August2014

TRYING SOMETHING NEW

                                                      TRYING SOMETHING NEW

This is trying something completely out of my comfort zone. As a neophyte artist, I have to try different things in order for me to grow. I really love the wings. Acrylic and charcoal on 20x20. #August2014

ELEMENTALS

                                                                ELEMENTALS

This is by far my biggest painting to date. I took my time in finishing this one just because I wanted to create something out of my comfort zone (or at least I think I did). I got inspired by the insects I saw from a recent beach trip and decided to mix it together with different subjects & environments. Acrylic on 60x60. #August2014

INSECURITIES AND FRUSTRATIONS

                                              MY BIGGEST PAINTING TO DATE

Someone just told me to use my insecurity and my frustration in painting (and art in general) as my motivation whenever I do it. So I relive this chapter of my life and pursue this additional journey (simultaneously with my current one), I pray that someday this caterpillar will blossom into a very beautiful butterfly. Acrylic on 60x60. #August2014

SENJU

                                                                          SENJU

I finished this painting literally right before I went out to dinner with friends at a restaurant called Senju which means "A Thousand Pleasures".  Acrylic on 24x36. #August2014

FASHION VICTIM

                                                                     Fashion Victim

I consider myself a "discreet" Barbie collector. I only have NRFBs (Never Removed From Box) so when I stumbled upon these old dolls from my youngest sister Anya (also named after one of my paintings), I decided to use them and create an installation made out of what I'm passionate about - Barbie + art.

MY JULY 2014 PAINTINGS

 Acrylic on 24x36.

Acrylic on 12x16 and 18x24.

My July 2014 Series. What an inspiring month.

QUEENS

                                                                      QUEENS

This is my last painting for my #July2014 series so I made sure to do something different. I've always been fascinated with royalty, mythical creatures and eras which led me to this piece which is one of faves. Acrylic on 24x36.

MIMI

                                                                         MIMI

This painting has its own special story that only me and my friends would understand from the name to the elements included in this piece. I love how this one turned out. Acrylic and charcoal on 24x36.

MINERVA & MR. RIGHT

                                                          MINERVA & MR. RIGHT

I got inspired by a make up campaign I saw in a magazine and played with the colors to make it more me. Added the white cat as "Mr. Right" for my cat named Olga. Acrylic on 24x36. #July2014

MORCO

                                                                             MORCO

I got overwhelmed with the size of this canvass (24x36) and decided to paint more subjects than usual then I decided to stick to what I like to do best which is portraits hence this painting MORCO named after a friend. You can still see the 2 subjects hidden in the face of the finished product. Acrylic on 24x36. #July2014

SAMANTHA

                                                                      SAMANTHA

Like my other painting, I was not thinking of anyone in mind when I made this piece but when I finally saw the outcome, it came out to look like someone I know hence the name, Samantha. Acrylic on 12x16.

JOEY

                                                                          JOEY

This piece is an homage to one of my favorite Fashion Designers in Manila, Joey Samson. Acrylic on 12x16. #July2014

TERRA

                                                                           TERRA

I finished this painting in the midst of a tropical storm (Glenda) in the Philippines which led me to name this piece Terra which is Spanish for EARTH. Spooky & romantic. Acrylic on 12x16.

MULARETTA

                                                                  MULARETTA

Since I have limited number of colors to choose from (when I made this one at least), I told myself I wanted to create something/someone with red hair. I'm not the type who can really paint something "realistic" so I made up something that I think suits my collection. I love how funky this turned out. Acrylic with charcoal on 12x16. #July2014

WITCHES

                                                                        WITCHES

I had a hard time finishing this one primarily because if you notice my previous works, most of them are portraits with 1 subject only. For this piece, I tried to add more "characters" to make it interesting. I started with 2 girls first, added the white one in the middle and ended up with 3 Witches. Acrylic on 18x24. #July2014

ANYA

                                                                         ANYA

When I was painting this piece, I really didn't think of a person in mind but after finishing it I realized that this lady looks almost exactly the same as my youngest sister Anya (sans the tatt and nice ring), hence the name. A lot of friends, family and even followers reacted (don't worry, they were all positive feedbacks :) when I posted this on my IG account asking if they can buy it, have a similar one made, or even just have it for free. Very interesting experience for me. Acrylic on 18x24. #July2014

CIGGY

                                                                          CIGGY

This one is memorable for me because it's the very first time that I got to play with different techniques which helped me figure out how to finish this piece. My patience was definitely tested but I really enjoyed creating this one. Acrylic on 18x24. #July2014

RIVA

                                                                           RIVA

I immediately started painting when I got home after buying new colors (orange, gold and turquoise) from my fave art shop, Devior. This is acrylic on 18x24. #July2014

CALADRYL

                                                                      CALADRYL

Been painting since 1991 but didn't really take it seriously until June of this year (2014). When I started with this piece, it was Caladryl pink (an anti-itch lotion brand in Manila, Philippines) but eventually ended up using different colors as well. This is my very first painting after 6 years. (acrylic in 24x36) #June2014

GLISS

                                                                           GLISS

This painting went through a lot of revisions as I couldn't decide whether to make her a horse head or a bird. This piece us made in acrylic on 24x36. #June2014

SELSUN

                                                                       SELSUN

I was inspired by an African model I saw in a magazine and used most of my have colors for this piece as art of my June Series. (Acrylic on 24x36) #June2014

ARGAN

                                                                        ARGAN

Part of my June 2014 series of acrylic on 24x36. This took a while before I got to finish it because I wanted to do something different and unconventional. June Series. #June2014
